Camera-ready artwork is preferred. However, should camera-ready artwork not be available, Most supplier art departments will set straight-line type. Most will also provide light touch-ups, simple redraws and make minor changes to supplied artwork for a minimal charge. More extensive rework or creation of artwork will be billed automatically for the charge necessary to produce the order up to $30.00. For charges in excess of $30.00, we will advise of exact charge and production time before work is begun. Supplier will adjust artwork to fit maximum imprint areas, unless otherwise specified.

Camera-Ready Artwork Includes: Sharp, black and white line art (graphics and text) on glossy photographic paper, color separated (one piece of camera-ready art for each color with proper registration marks) type that is no smaller than 6 points in size, digitally-produced artwork sent on disk or modem.

Specifications and Requirements for Digitally-Produced Artwork: Media Requirements: Files must be sent on a Mac or PC-formatted 3.5" floppy disk or Zip disk. Do not put artwork for more than one single order on each floppy, submit a single floppy disk for each order Artwork is accepted via e-mail, if supplying artwork with attached files in TIFF or EPS format, or by standard mail addressed to Commercial Advertising, Inc., 118 W. Bute Street, Norfolk, VA 23510.

File Formats: Corel Draw, Illustrator, EPS and TIFF files are accepted. Always include a laser print of the artwork TIFF files must be 1 bit black and white line art, scanned at approximately 1200 dpi at 100% final output size. Files scanned at 600 dpi should be scanned at 200% final output we Packbits compression is preferred. EPS files must be all black and white and include a I bit TIFF preview header Fonts incorporated in artwork must be converted to outline paths. Please include any unusual screen and printer fonts as well as all imported TIFF and EPS files. Most supplier graphic departments accept both Mac and PC format Type.

Rules and Outlines: Suppliers cannot guarantee reproduction of fine serif and script type smaller than 8 points. Bold sans-serif fonts are recommended for type smaller than 8 points. No type should be less than 6 points. Avoid outline and shadow-effect fonts All rules and outlines should be greater than I point. Color Separations: For artwork to be reproduced in more than one color, separate TIFF or EPS files for each color, as well as single composite TIFF or EPS files, must be included, each meeting the requirements described above. Files must contain black art only Include a laser print or other diagram indicating the color breakdown, and name the individual color files in a descriptive, selfexplanatory manner.

Four-Color Process: Four-color process art must be a minimum of 300 dpi/1 50 lpi at 100% to size. We recommend the highest possible resolution. A high quality color proof, such as a matchprint, must be included in CMYK. An original 35mm slide, 4" x 5" or 8" x 10" color transparency may be used. Halftone Screens; Although our imprinting processes are always improving, currently artwork containing halftones must be screened at 65 lines per inch at 100% final size Tint percentages between 25% and 75% are recommended. Halftone not available for hot stamp.

Additional Information: Always keep a copy of files. Do not send in the only copy. Floppy disks will be returned only upon request. Artwork is only kept on file for 2 years in ost cases.
